7 steps to reach goals

There's ongoing discussions about the value of goals. The truth lies as most in the middle, goals can be a very helpful tool, as long as you don't become obsessed with them.

1.Define goals
Set goals for different time frames.
Examples: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly yearly.
Don’t overplan. Plan as it fits to you personally.

2. Write goals down
It’s simple but often missed.

3. Set fewer, impactful goals
Too many goals overwhelm and make unhappy when you don’t reach them. Focus on what really matters and fits your career and lifestyle.

4. Regularly review your goals
Weekly goal reviews keep you on track. Even a one-minute review aligns your daily tasks with your long-term vision.

5. Adopt identity together with your big goals
Link goals to who you want to become (e.g., “I’m a supportive leader”). Goals aligned with identity boost motivation and sustainable change.

6. Mental Contrasting (WOOP)
Visualize goals together with possible obstacles, then plan solutions in advance.

Wish: the wish behind your goal
Outcome: the desired outcome of the goal
Obstacle: problems that might appear during the process of reaching the goal
Plan: the plan to address and avoid the obstacles

7. Take it easy
Be patient and kind with yourself. Improving goal-setting habits takes time—it’s okay to adjust and refine along the way.

Bonus Hint: set goals according to your values and what you want to reach for your and other's good. Don't set goals because you want to proove others something.
